Adam O’Conor is Regional Chairman and CEO of Grey Group Greater China. Called a “champion of creative ideas” by his peers, he previously served as President, Ogilvy & Mather Group, Asia Pacific, where he led the Global Brand Management Team overseeing a who's who of more than 20 multinational brands in the region. Earlier, he led Ogilvy Hong Kong to new heights of creative and business success winning over 100 international creative and effectiveness awards and being crowned AOTY for 8 consecutive years. A key architect of the Ogilvy network in Asia over the past two decades, having joined the network as a Graduate trainee in London and later Sydney, he has demonstrated vision, creativity, and dynamism in building brands across all communications channels and has an unparalleled grasp of what clients are looking for in a future-facing marketing partner.
Desmond began his advertising career after his graduation from University of Hong Kong with a psychology degree in 1995. During his time with a few multinational agencies in HK, including TBWA, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO, and Publicis, he worked on a wide range of blue-chip accounts with APAC and Greater China exposure in IMC, from automobile, banking & finance, FMCG, and IT, to properties, e.g., Standard Chartered Bank, UBS, AXA, Vitasoy, SmarTone-Vodafone, Canon, Lexus, Nissan, Sun Hung Kai Properties, etc.
He joined Grey in 2007 and was the Managing Partner/General Manager of Grey HK for six years. Under his leadership, Grey proved its creative excellence and marketing effectiveness through various industry recognitions like Effie Awards and Cannes. At agency level, Grey HK was awarded 2013 Greater China Creative Agency of the Year by Campaign Asia. He also actively contributed to the industry by serving as the co-chairman of the 2013 HK Effie Awards.
Since 2015, Desmond has expanded his role to Greater China, responsible for new business development and cultivating growth of key accounts by integrating service offerings across agency networks.
As a digital evangelist, Joseph started the digital venture in the last century with the utmost passion and an in-depth understanding of the Greater China digital ecosystem. Joseph began leading the digital business at Grey in 2013. Prior to Grey Group, he served as the digital strategy lead at MRM, GM at OgilvyOne Mobile Unit, and VP at Velti China—serving MNC and local clients including Intel, Microsoft, Audi, VW, Lenovo, P&G, Master Kong, Wrigley, Lego, Castrol, Cerebos, and Kimberly-Clark.
As a pioneer in the Greater China digital space, Joseph served as Ad Sales Director at renren.com in 1999; then, leveraging the spike of mobile value-added business, he joined Linktone in 2004 as the Senior BD Manager. In 2006, Joseph relocated to Beijing from Hong Kong, setting up the Greater China operation for dada.net, an Italy-based SNS. Joseph also has experience starting up his own venture as entrepreneur.
Joseph was named to the Digital A-List by Campaign Asia, highlighting his contribution toward the growth of China’s digital space.
June has over 20 years of experience in the communications industry, and her China adventure started in 2002. She has stewarded great global brands such as Nestlé, MasterCard, UPS, Tiffany, Microsoft, and Intel, and top China brands like Bank of China, Haier, and ICBC. Her work on these brands has prompted a wide range of effectiveness and creative awards.
June joined Grey in 2014 and is responsible for the Shanghai office, overseeing the overall strategic direction, planning, and execution of the operation. Prior to joining Grey, she was the managing director of McCann Erickson Beijing.
In addition to the operation head function, she is also the Grey Greater China lead person on GSK to ensure GSK clients have access to a seamless and integrated offering from Grey Group across the three markets.
In her spare time, she is always planning her next travel destination.
Beginning her career as a copywriter, Canon Wu is an accomplished creative executive with strong experience in the advertising industry across Greater China.
Her creative leadership at Grey Group, Ogilvy, and McCann Worldgroup created leading brands in China such as Puma, L’Oreal Paris, Maybelline, InterContinental Hotel Group, Marriott Hotels, Coke’s Ice Dew Water, HSBC, Mengniu, JD.com, Shanghai General Motors, Volvo, Bose, and Abbott, and made them become more famous.
Her work for Puma in China was globally recognized and her Uni-President Olympic campaign was praised by AdAge as “the best campaign with the social responsibilities and human care conception for Olympics.”
Canon was recognized as one of the top 10 creative directors in China, and Campaign Asia recently featured Canon in its “Digital A-List” for China. For years, she was also invited to certify the WPP school graduates.
Adeline is one of the most respected business entrepreneurs in the region, awarded the Honour of Recognition, “2007 Chinese Entrepreneur in Innovation and Excellence”. Her designer background not only founded her strengths in delivering compelling creativity and professional artwork, but also her vision in “designing” great business successes for clients.
Adeline founded DPI in 1996 and has since developed a strong and continuous relationship with an impressive global client roster like P&G. DPI was acquired by WPP group in 2010 and subsequently positioned within the Grey global network as an award-winning shopper agency with proven marketing effectiveness.
Adeline’s entrepreneurship and strategic capability have been the driving forces behind the ongoing expansion of DPI, while the business continues to break new ground in design innovation and retail communications disciplines.
