Grey Grabs the Spotlight at 2024 Cannes Lions International Festival

At the 2024 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Grey was honoured with a Grand Prix and 6 Gold Lions at the esteemed ceremony — a major accomplishment out of the Festival’s nearly 27,000 award entries. Grey’s total metal count also includes 4 Silver and 6 Bronzes, for a final 17 Lions.

The agency received their first Grand Prix in 7 years from Grey Peru and Sol Cement’s Sightwalks. Sightwalks was also awarded 4 Golds, 2 Silvers, and 1 Bronze Lion. The campaign outfits Lima, Peru’s sidewalks with a system of tactile tiles that helps visually impaired people better navigate their surroundings.

Additional Lion winners include:

  • Grey Borderless (Argentina/Brazil/Ecuador) and Arroz Super Extra’s Rice of Glory won a Gold and Bronze Lion

  • Grey Belgium and Veolia’s Pulse of Nature won a Bronze Lion

  • Grey Brazil and University Zumbi dol Palmares’ The Anti-Racist Bag won a Silver Lion

  • Grey Colombia and Makro’s Adscan won a Bronze Lion

  • Grey Croatia and Marodi’s A Soup to Remember won a Bronze Lion

  • Grey Kazakhstan and Rih Fighting Championship’s The National Sport of Kazakhstan won a Gold Lion

  • Grey Mexico and Reinserta’s Tres won a Silver Lion

  • Grey Mexico and Diario la Unión y Artículo 19’s The Last Trip won a Bronze Lion

Of the nearly 27,000 entries, usually less than 10% are shortlisted. Grey had a total of 60 shortlisted entries—22 campaigns from 15 countries.

The agency was also instrumental in WPP being named Creative Company of the Year, contributing to 25% of its Golds. As part of the AKQA family, our combined performance with 23 of WPP’s total Lions ranked us 9th and in the envied position as a Top 10 Agency Network in the World. And. for the first time in Coca-Cola’s history, the brand has been named Creative Brand of the Year! As part of the WPP Open X team, Grey’s work on Coke, Schweppes, Absolut Vodka + Sprite, and now Minute Maid, are helping to get the brand noticed.

On the Festival’s grounds, the agency had 4 Young Lions competing in the annual Young Lions competition:
