Consulted by the media, Nacho reflects upon this process in particular and also about the logic evolution that the festival has year after year.
"Being a juror in Cannes will always be an interesting experience.
Besides the responsibility that it means, it's fundamental to see which are the changes produced from one year to the other, in regards to how we are tackling global ideas, not only those that actually won or those that entered the shortlist stage, but also all the entries that await to be a part of the Festival.
On the other hand, the Festival goes beyond the ideas. It urges us to focus on the ways we search, execute and resolve in a way that the idea can respond and create something important. For a while Cannes has tried to introduce these changes in the criteria, 2019 can be the opportunity to see if we are being able to understand it or not."
