In Mexico, journalism can cost you your life. Since 2000, more than 200 journalists have been murdered or disappeared for doing their jobs. With a journalist targeted every 14 hours, Article 19 and Diario La Union recognized the urgent need to turn apathy into outrage and make visible what is often buried: the impunity behind every headline. Together with Grey, the brands sought to reignite global awareness and pressure for justice through a powerful metaphor that couldn’t be ignored.

In Mexico, Telling the Truth Can Get You Killed.

Famously Effective

In a country where journalists are often murdered or disappeared, we aimed to move beyond mere facts, seeking instead to evoke the profound fear and courage inherent in telling the truth. Using a compelling narrative rhythm and a powerful visual metaphor, we humanize an invisible war, confronting indifference and exposing a reality that many would rather not see.
