The World’s 1st Sun Reserve

Sun Reserve

A new preservation concept.
2025 Cannes Lions 1 Gold and 1 Silver

For a century, Corona has encouraged people to enjoy the sun. Yet, unchecked coastal development increasingly casts shadows over public beaches, blocking the very sunlight defining these special spaces, often via height regulation loopholes.

Marking its 100th anniversary in 2025, Corona, deeply rooted in sun and outdoor enjoyment, felt compelled to act. Leading to the creation of the world's first Sun Reserve. Inspired by forest and marine reserves, this initiative redefines natural resource preservation. By taking possession of beachfront airspace, it prevents the potential obstruction of sunlight and ensures it reaches the sand.

If Buildings are Blocking the Sun, Let's Block the Buildings.

Famously Effective

In collaboration with Corona's legal team, Grey Brazil discovered and leveraged an overlooked real estate law to benefit nature. They secured possession of a lot's airspace for three renewable years in Piedade, one of Brazil's most famous and shadowed beaches. This innovative action protects the area from further real estate obstruction and has already sparked a global conversation.

By the end of 2025, Corona aims to have implemented two Sun Reserves, with several more currently in negotiation for 2026.

“A place for everyone in the sun.”
“Corona encourages life outside, believing nothing is as special as sun on skin, feet in sand and sea breeze on face. Millions share this feeling. We hope everyone has a place in the sun. This initiative helps people appreciate it.”
